What a victory!

Philip Roth wins this year's Man Booker International Prize. So what?? Someone or other wins it every two year...
But, there's something special with this man, that is, he has won it at the age of 78. Something that inspires me so much to see the enthusiasm of a man at an age, when most of his fellows are treated as nothing but a useless person.  I have found many people saying that they can’t do a particular thing because their age doesn’t allow them to do. It’s to be noted that Mr. Roth has worked remarkably well in his late 50’s and 60’s, including the one, Nemesis, in 2010. It inspires me in a great way and teaches that talent is not bound to age, and we are old enough to hold any responsibility and start any thing and everything we want! :)

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.

  2. and this award has nothing to do with age. its for a lifetime of work...and generally everybody gets a lifetime achievement towards the end of one's career!!
And there's nothing inspirational in Roth...
maybe for a young writer, but for a reader he is just plain pleasure that knocks you off!!

  3. @ Raza Sir- I'm just amazed to see people's enthusiasm to keep working till they are live. I liked the idea that he, at this age, is still writing and being appreciated too.. :)
